About Lazar History
Over 30 Years!
Lazar is a full line upholstered furniture manufacturer with headquarters in Siler City, North Carolina. Founded in 1983 by Barry J. Lazar, the company grew from humble beginnings in a small factory located in South Central Los Angeles where the company became well known for its value oriented dining and accent chairs.
Chair Design, as the company was called back then, quickly gained popularity with local retailers and interior designers. Soon after, the company began making sofas and sectionals to complement their popular priced chairs. By the late 1980’s the company changed its name to Lazar Industries and opened a second factory in North Carolina to accommodate a growing east coast customer base. The country began the 1990’s in recession but Lazar pressed forward as its charismatic leader vowed to “design its way out of slow times!” This mantra helped the company to firmly establish itself as an industry leader in contemporary and transitional upholstery.
Today, Lazar still produces all of its products in Siler City, North Carolina utilizing the skills of the talented men and women in our community and is proud to be Made in the USA. Though no longer a family run business, the company holds true to the principles established by its enigmatic founder, great design, good value and fast delivery.
Lazar Gives Showroom a Makeover!
Lazar just completely remodeled its High Point Market home, a 10,000-square-foot location in the International Home Furnishings Center’s Design Center. see some live video taking walking around the showroom.
“We are creating a whole new look and feel to our market space that lends itself to our dealers and designers,” said Lazar President Robert Luce . “We wanted to design an environment where our customers are the focal point of the showroom and we are very excited with the end result.”

Product Information and Warranty
All of Lazar Industries’ products are constructed with the same high-quality standards. We use only frames of kiln-dried hardwood, which are sturdy and resistant to warping. Joints are precision-engineered, double-doweled, glued, and stapled. No-sag, sinuous-loop, high-carbon steel springs provide long-lasting comfort and support. Cushions feature five to six-inch foam core wrapped with two layers of extra-thick Dacron® and then completely enclosed in a protective wrap of non-woven material to ensure a top-quality feel and proven durability.
Lazar Industries offers the purchaser the following limited warranties:
- Lifetime Warranty on Frame and Spring Construction
- Three-Year Warranty on Foam
- One-Year Limited Warranty on Manufacturing Defects
Note: Items are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects under normal use in a residential setting. Normal softening and flattening of foam and fibers is not considered a defect. The item must remain upholstered in the original fabric. Textiles are not warranted against fading, dye lot failure, wearing, or any damage resulting from any cleaning process, substance, or operation.
Service/Repair Policy
To obtain service under these warranties, problems must be reported to the dealer. A copy of the original sales receipt must be presented by the original purchaser. The retailer, not the customer, is to contact Lazar for service arrangements.
